THE idiot box....deadliest weapon to destroy our CULTURE

Yesterday I visited my sister's place who is also living in Hyderabad, and infact her's place is the only place where i like to visit in such a big city and play around with my little and sweet bhaanji, and share some thoughts with my didi and jijaji on varied topics.

But yesterday i was a bit late, so my bhaanji was fast asleep and we were having serious discussions on religion, purpose of life, etc etc and belive me we were about to find some answers :) ....

That the TeleVision was switched ON and "Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi" was on the air,we thought along with food we will watch it and suspend gyaanvardhak baatein for some other day....and lo....we were exposed to the world of nonsense(at least i feel that way)

Leave aside all the other things, most of the characters were uttering the word "balatkaar(rape)" committed by the husband on her wife, I was very much surprised to watch and hear that type of stuff that how easily these things have entered into our houses and the way they are going to affect our society and OUR CULTURE.

We say with a lot of pride that OUR CULTURE is the best, but nobody pays any attention the way we are trampling it, smashing it and killing it day by day in our quest to become modern.

Can we stop it,

Otherwise we will be modern but at what COST.

FAITH or FEAR contd....

….for his survival.

Then at the time of thunders & lightening along with heavy downpour and other natural extremities, at the spread of some infectious disease killing a lot of fellow beings and almost sweeping off the cattle wealth, etc etc,

he must have been clueless that why the things r going that way,

and moreover how to stop them or escape them….

Alas, he couldn’t do anything ….

Then there has to be something to hang on, there has to be somebody who is responsible for all this….BUT WHO IS THAT (do we know till date :) ) and how to PACIFY HIM.

“If we find HIM we can ask him to stop all this so that we can continue with our daily routine mainly hunt....and definitely we r too much scared and want to come out of this fear to live in peace”

So search for the SUPREME begins....WHO? WHO? WHO? WHO?

And after a lot of thought,

EUREKA....

We found HIM, HE is GOD and he is angry with us,

HE is there, HE is OMNIPRESENT but we can't see HIM,

We will do anything to pacify HIM and send messages asking HIM to stop all this,

That is the origination of GOD....out of FEAR,

And then evolved the ways to pacify HIM and to communicate with HIM and that medium is bending infront of him, reciting prayers, performing yajnas, performing sacrifices, etc

Then as time passed concept of FAITH (SHRADDHA) seeped in just to provide a curtain to our FEAR.

The other day i was thinking about the ORIGIN OF RELIGION/ORIGIN OF GOD, was it FAITH(SHRADDHA) or FEAR.
I believe it to be FEAR, the fear of unknown and transforming that unknown into someone that is known (yet unknown till date) and that known is ALMIGHTY GOD.
If we try to glance centuries ago when human beings were evolving and try to visualize the scenario at that time when man used to wander as nomads and lived in caves or under the trees,
and was fully dependent on nature....
